I tried this oolong for the first time today and was shocked at how complex the flavor is! It’s delightfully earthly and subtly floral with sweet notes and a great aftertaste that builds as you drink it. I rebrewed the leaves several hours later and it was still pretty good- obviously not as much so as the first brew, but still enjoyable. This instantly became a favorite for both my husband and me.
Good, a little funkier than the oolongs from the previous box.
This tea has a savory quality that almost reminds me of a buttery mushroom broth, followed by a dancing of flowers across the tongue. It tastes like an herbal broth with a flower aftertaste. This is the first oolong tea I've ever tried, and I just ordered my second 3 ounce bag!
Certainly not bad, but I found the taste didn't match the description of the tea. It is a light oolong without any astringency as described -- but it lacked the complexity and coconut/stonefruit/firewood. I do think it had a somewhat buttery/creamy aftertaste. Stood up to 4 infusions (but I use a slightly higher amount of water than true gong fu brewing).
Would purchase again -- good for "light" oolong to compare against a darker one for those developing their palate.
It’s okay, but much lighter to other oolongs.
