How the Canada Post Strike Affects Tea Runners in Canada

Unfortunately, the Canada Post strike continues.

We ship our subscription boxes via Canada Post Lettermail, which is the only service that allows us to offer "free" shipping at a cost of about $4 per box nationwide.

Due to the strike, offering free shipping on our subscriptions is not currently possible.

To avoid shutting down completely, we are offering a flat-rate shipping option of $10 per box while the strike is ongoing. This additional expense will be refunded when the strike ends.

For example, if you purchase a 6-box gift subscription, you will be charged $60 for shipping at checkout. If the strike ends after one box has shipped, we will refund you $50.

We will be shipping via UPS until the strike is resolved. If there is any upside, it’s that you will receive your box much faster with UPS. Shipments should arrive in about a week, compared to the two-week average shipping time for Lettermail.

 

Existing Subscriptions & Renewals

Unfortunately, we cannot ship our regular subscriptions while this strike is on. We cannot take an $14-$18 loss on shipping every box. 

We will hold all December shipments until the strike is resolved. If the strike continues for months, we may end up shipping multiple monthly boxes in one shipment when the cost evens out.
